  • Intro:

Manchester City got the defence of the English Premier League off to a winning start on Sunday (19th August) following a 3-2 win over Southampton, but had to come from behind with late goals from Edin Dzeko and Samir Nasri to overcome the newly-promoted 'Saints'.

    Script:

"We don't know (about the extent of Sergio Aguero's injury)... at the moment, because we need to wait maybe two days for the scan. We hope it will be not serious, but at the moment, we don't know..."

"Usually the knee is always dangerous and his (Sergio Aguero) injury is maybe... was so strange. I'm worried. I'm worried at this moment."

"I think that when you play the first game at the start of the season, it's always difficult. And also because we trained with the whole team only Saturday, because we had fifteen players (playing) for their national team... and also because we did some mistake. this can happen in the first game."

"Um... what have I made of it? Obviously, we've come away from home to the champions, we wanted to give ourselves an opportunity to win the game. That's what it's all about. There's 38 games in the Barclays Premier League and you've got to find ways to win. It's always challenging away from home. We're a team that for the last two season have got back-to-back promotions and we're used to winning consistently. We know that this year is going to be massively challenging. We've got to come up with ways and find ways to give ourselves the opportunity to do that."

"Our defenders have just played against the best forward line they have ever played against in their lives and I think they acquitted themselves ever so well. You know, Man City only conceded 12 goals at home last season - we just put two past them. They only drew one game last season. They have gone and won again today, because that's what it's all about, it's about winning..."

"Um, from where I am in the dugout, it's not a great view, I think it's fair to say. Hopefully, he is not hurt too bad, from my point of view. I wouldn't have thought it was a challenge which was malicious in any way, shape or form and obviously no-one likes to see anybody getting stretchered off."
