Jordan victorious over Australia

  • Intro:

Jordan beat Australia 2-1 in the Asian section of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers to go ahead of them in Group B on Tuesday in Amman, Jordan.

    Script:

Jordan hosted Australia in Group B of the Asia section of World Cup qualification on Tuesday.

A dull first half with no goals with Tim Cahil's effort the sole highlight.

But the second had barely begun before Odai Alsaify was tackled by Michael Jedinak.

The referee thought it looked like a penalty and luckily for the home fans, Hasan Abdel-Fattah made it 1-0 to Jordan.

Another strong run from Odai Alsaify two minutes later set up Amer Deeb to make it 2-0 to Jordan.

Amazingly Jordan could have easily gone 3-0 up if Deeb had converted this one.

Then Archie Thompson scored for Australia with five minutes to go.

But Aussie celebrations were short lived as Jordan took the win 3-1, putting them one above Australia in Group B.
