It was finals days at the Denmark Super Series Premier event on Sunday, with the mixed doubles the first match on the schedule.

Top seeds Chen Xu and Jin Ma of China faced Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir and saved two game points before taking the first 23-21.

Indonesian duo Ahmad and Natsir edged a tight second game 26-24, but then lost their momentum in the decider.

Chen and Jin took it 21-11 to wrap up the gold medals in one hour, 13 minutes on court.

Partnering each other in a Super Series event for the first time, Shin Baek-cheol and Yoo Yeon-seong did well to claim a place in the men's doubles final.

The South Koreans made a perfect start to their union, beating Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan of Malaysia 19-21, 21-11, 21-19 to clinch the title.

Rising star Saina Nehwal then faced Juliane Schenk of Germany in the women's singles final.

World number three Nehwal jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first game and never looked back, eventually taking it 21-17.

Nehwal then eased to a 21-17, 21-8 victory in just 35 minutes.

Having played her part in winning the mixed doubles earlier in the day, Jin Ma returned to fight for the women's doubles honours with Jinhua Tang.

The Chinese duo took on Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi of Japan and faced faltering resistance in the first game, which they won 21-8.

Matsutomo and Takahashi raised their play a little in the second game, but were unable to avoid a 21-8, 21-12 defeat - Jin clinching her second title of the tournament.
