  • Intro:

Cuba and the Netherlands join Taiwan and Japan in Tokyo for the double elimination World Baseball Classic second round, which will see the top two clubs advance to the final in San Francisco.

Taiwan have lost only one game in qualification but manager Hsieh Chang-heng says the second round will be different and his team can expect a tougher time in Tokyo.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Hsieh Chang-heng, Taiwan Manager (on the difference between the first round in Taiwan and the second round in Tokyo):
"We put more emotion into this round than the first round. Our main aim from the first round was just to get to the next round. Here in Tokyo, our focus is all about going to the final. We are going to have to be mentally tough"

SOUNDBITE: (English) Hensley Meulens, Netherlands Manager (on the importance of winning their first game in Tokyo against Cuba):
"It's huge. I think, you know, this is a little bit different format. Its double elimination. You lose the first game and your back is against the wall right away. You win the first game then you win the next one and you're in. So it's very, very big and we expect a good performance for our starter tomorrow and we expect our hitters to be a little more patient and makes some adjustments, in game, in order for us to score more runs."
