SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) Kenji Yamamoto, Japan Manager (on the win over the Netherlands and his team's form in the Tokyo round):
"Everyone says we are a 'small ball' baseball team. But I have to admit even I didn't think we would hit six home runs. Between tonight and our win two days ago against Taiwan, these games have been like a gift from the gods."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Hensley Meulens, Netherlands manager (on the loss to Japan):
"These guys gained momentum when they beat the Cubans, excuse me, Chinese Taipei the other day. And today they just came out swinging. They were loosey-goosey. They played a real good game and they hit like people expect them to hit all the time today. So if you don't make good pitches on them they are going to hurt you and they showed that today."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Wladimir Balentien, Netherlands Outfielder (on needing to beat Cuba to advance to the WBC final round):
"Everybody knows it's an important game tomorrow, so what happened tonight, we're going to leave it over. Tomorrow's a brand new game. We come out, play hard, like we've been doing before and I have confidence in my teammates. So I think tomorrow we'll be all right."
