The first race of the 2013 Endurance Calendar took place at Silverstone on Sunday.

A nail biting end to the 6 Hours of Silverstone saw the number 2 Audi R18 of Allan McNish sweep past the number one Audi of world champion Benoit Treluyer with just five minutes of the race remaining.

Toyota Racing car seven with Alexander Wurz in the driving seat had started from pole position, but he was overtaken early on and was unable to recover.

The win added the names of Audi, McNish, Loic Duval and Tom Kristensen to the 108 year Tourist Trophy roll of honour.

The LMP2 victory went to Silverstone based team Delta-ADR as Antonio Pizzonia took the chequered flag with nearly a one lap advantage over OAK Racing Morgan Nissan, number 24, with Olivier Pla the lead driver.

Aston Martin Racing celebrated its centenary in some style after a dominant display in both the LMGTE Pro and Am classes.

Darren Turner, Stefan Mücke and Bruno Senna produced a flawless race to win the Pro class in their No.97 Vantage V8, having held the lead from the very start.

In LMGTE the Danish trio of Alan Simonsen, Christoffer Nygaard and Kristian Poulsen were equally convincing in LMGTE Am.

They finished a full three laps ahead of the No.50 Larbre Corvette of Patrick Bornhauser, Julien Canal and Fernando Rees.

The next race of the Endurance season will take place in Belgium from the 2nd to the 4th of May.
