China thrash Korea to secure Sudirman Cup

    China won the 2013 Sudirman Cup after beating South Korea 3-0 in the final at Putra Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday (May 26).

    The final of the 2013 BWF Sudirman Cup at Putra Stadium, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday featured the defending champions China and previous winners South Korea.

    China sent out Xu Chen and Ma Jin in the mixed doubles and the world number one pair beat the Korean duo of Ko Sung Hyun and Kim Ha Na in straight games, 21-13, 21-15.

    China won the second point of the two Asian giants' encounter after world number two Chen Long beat Korea's Lee Dong Keun in two games, 21-15, 21-10.

    In the men's doubles, China fielded their All England Open Champions Liu Xiaolong and Qiu Zihan in opposition to Korea's star duo of Ko Sung Hyun and Lee Yong Dae - the world number two pairing.

    The young Chinese pair played more aggressively and upset the Koreans in two games, 21-19, 21-17, sealing victory for China.

    In the 13th running of the Sudirman Cup, it was a ninth triumph for the mighty Chinese.
