The USA pairing of Phil Dalhausser and Sean Rosenthal took gold in the FIVB Grand Slam on Saturday - defeating Spanish duo Pablo Herrera Allepuz and Adrian Gavira Collado in straight sets.

The Americans took the first set 21-14 before taking the second 21-18 - securing the gold medal at Long Beach California.

In the bronze medal match, Italians Nicolai Paolo and Daniele Lupo upset USA's top-seeded pair Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson.

After taking the first set 21-17 they followed up with a 21-13 scoreline in the second.

The FIVB World Tour continues in Germany in August.
