In the men's coxless pairs final at the World Rowing Championships in Korea, Hamish Bond and Eric Murray were looking to make history - while extending their fabulous record at the World Rowing Championships.
By the first 500-metre mark, the reigning Olympic champions had edged in front. They settled into a 35 stroke rate pace and started to pull away.
No threat to their world best of 6 minutes 8.50 seconds - but triumphing in a time of 6 minutes 34.98 seconds, Bond and Murray did break the world record for the most consecutive wins.
In the men's quadruple sculls final,
David Sain, Damir Martin and brothers Valent and Martin Sinkovic were quick away from the start - though the rest of the field never let them escape.
Coming into the final sprint, the Croatians held a slight advantage over Germany with Great Britain powering down the outside.
Croatia won in 5 minutes 53.57 seconds with Germany relegated to second place in 5 minutes 54.39 seconds.
Meanwhile the Netherlands won the men's four final while Germany won the Women's quadruple sculls final.
