The 2013 America's Cup is drawing to a close.Emirates Team New Zealand need just 1 more win to claim the title. But they couldn't do it during race 12 in San Francisco Bay.

They began the day at match point, 8-2 up against Oracle Team USA. The first team to nine points will win the oldest trophy in international sport.

But Team USA continued their recent good form as Jimmy Spithill made a decisive move in the pre-start, forcing Dean Barker and the New Zealand boat to make two quick tacks just the before the line.

On the racecourse, the defenders showed blazing boatspeed - posting an average speed for the race just under 30 knots, and they maintained a steady advantage to force the match into its 10th day tomorrow.

For the second day in succession, the second race of the day was aborted with the two minute countdown start sequence started.

All the reserve days have now been used. The Finals are expected to continue without a break until either the New Zealand team win one more race to take the America's Cup or the American team wins seven races in a row to retain the trophy.
