Both sides were searching for their first victory at volleyball's Club World Championship.

La Romana from the Dominican Republic won the opening two sets and were good value for a 2-0 lead, largely thanks to the form of Henry Tapia.

Sfaxien took the next three though and eventually emerged victorious in one hour and 43 minutes.

And there was another combeack as Lokomotiv Novossibirsk beat Brazilian side Sada Cruzeiro 3-2 on Thursday.

Sada Cruzeiro edged the first set 25-22 but soon found themselves level as the Russians won the second 25-21.

The two exchanged another set each, before Novossibirk secured the fifth and final set 16-14.

The defeat was Sada Cruzeiro's first of the tournament, after securing victories in their opening two matches of the championship.
