  • Intro:

Brazilian pair Alison Cerutti and Vitor Felipe defeated the Dutch duo Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen to win the Xiamen Grand Slam in China on Saturday (26th October).

    Script:

Taiana Lima and Talita de Rocha won in straight sets against the US pair Emily Day and Summer Ross at the Xiamen Grand Slam on Saturday.

Lima and De Rocha will now take on Kartin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler of Germany in the semi-finals.

It wasn't all bad news for the US, though. April Ross and Kerri Walsh moved into the last four with a comfortable victory over Tatyana Mashkova and Irina Tsimbalova.

Ross and Walsh will face Germany's Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst for a place in the final.

In the men's competition, the bronze medal was captured by the Italian pair of Nicolai Paolo and Daniele Lupo.

They beat Jon Stiekema and Christiaan Varenhorst of the Netherlands 22-20, 21-19.

The men's final was just as close. Reigning world champions Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen were forced into a deciding set by their Brazilian opponents Alison Cerutti and Vitor Felipe.

Cerutti and Felipe landed the Grand Slam title in only their second event playing together.
