SOUNDBITE: (French), Philippe Streiff, former F1 driver:
"Gerard Saillant has kept me updated hour by hour. I wasn't even able to see him to have lunch or dinner because he would not leave Michael Schumacher for a minute. He has been at his bedside all day and all night. He took turns with Sabine Kehm and Corinna, Michael's wife whose children are very traumatised."

SOUNDBITE: (French), Philippe Streiff, former F1 driver:
"I'm not a doctor, I'm repeating what Gerard Saillant told me. Saillant said it is a serious condition. He is in such good health, he is 45 he is young, he has always done sport. He is in excellent physical shape so there is no reason why he would not make it."
