    Australia's Mick Fanning wins Rip Curl Pro in Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia on Wednesday.

    Australia's Mick Fanning won the Rip Curl Pro in Australia on Wednesday after defeating compatriot Taj Burrow.

    Fanning controlled the final early on and was in fine form, scoring an excellent 8.83.

    And the man nicknamed 'the white lightening', followed that up with 8.00, for a solid two wave tally of 16.83.

    Fanning's opponent found form late on in the contest with the highest scoring ride of the final, an outstanding 9.63.

    Burrow only required a 7.20 to take the win but was unable to find the wave he needed and Fanning emerged victorious.

    It was the time the three time, ASP World Champion has won the the famous Bell trophy and he was clearly delighted with the victory.

    Rio De Janiero in Brazil is the next event on the 2014 ASP World Tour takes, which takes place in two weeks time.
