Sydnee Michaels tournament could not have started much better with this on the second hole but she would go on to card a two over par 74. Instead it was consistant brilliance that saw Karine Icher end the day with a two stroke lead on six under.

The Frenchwoman birdied four of the last seven holes to make 66 on the first day of the Swinging Skirts Classic in San Francisco.

Play was delayed by two hours at the start of the day and cut short at the end because of fog and bad light.

There are five golfers tied on four under, this birdie from Lydia Ko helped her become one of those.

Another five are a shot further back including Stacy Lewis who made this birdie on the sixth.

And there is another five on two under, Huei-Ju Shih is one of those. thanks to this chip. She'll need much more of that though keep up with Icher.
