'I want to go out on my own terms' - Woods

Tuesday, May 20 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Tiger Woods said on Monday that there was still "no time table" for his return to golf following back surgery at the end of March.

    Script:

    SOUNDBITE (English): Tiger Woods

"I would love to be out there and competing and playing. I would like, as all athletes, to go out on my own terms. Ultimately I want to continue playing at the elite level for as long as I deem I want to do it. For some guys they are in their sixties and seventies, other guys it's in their forties and fifties, but prior to the surgery I didn't think I would have much of a playing career if I felt like this. As I said, I couldn't even get out of bed. But now that I have had the procedure I am excited about what the prospects hold, that I am able to feel this way and if that's the case, then I am excited about my career. I'm able to do what I want to do for as long as I want to."
