    SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) Takuma Ueda, Japan:

"This was a crucial game, it is the Thomas Cup final. I was really honoured to represent Japan as the third singles player. I could feel the tension but I just wanted to try my best in the game. In the end I was able to win the title for my team. I am really happy about it."

"Badminton is not a major sport in Japan right now. I hope this victory can give some good impressions of badminton to young people in Japan."
