    Semi-final highlights of the BWF Grand Prix Gold Chinese Taipei Open in Taiwan on Saturday.

    The semi-finals of the Grand Prix Gold Chinese Taipei Open got underway on Saturday.

    Chinese star Lin Dan took on Japan's Riichi Takeshita for a spot in the men's singles final.

    Takeshita was a set down but he responded by taking the second to level the match.

    But Lin prevailed in the third to win 21-15, 14-21, 21-18. The reigning world champion faces compatriot and second seed Wang Zhengming in Sunday's showpiece.

    In the women's singles, defending champion Sung Ji-hyun of South Korea booked her spot in the final after dismissing Taiwan's Hsu Ya-ching in straight sets; 21-19, 21-9.

    Indonesians Andrei Adistia and Hendra Gunawan took a 7-4 lead over Japan's Hiroyuki Saeki and Ryota Taohata in game two after this thrilling rally in the men's doubles.

    Adistia and Gunawan then edged this tight encounter 26-24, 23-21 to progress.

    Indonesia's Nitya Maheswari and Greysia Polii are into the women's doubles final after the fourth seeds knocked out fifth seeds Tang Yuanting and Huang Yaqiong of China.

    Finally in the mixed doubles, unseeded Chinese teenagers Liu Yuchen and Yu Xiaohan continued their impressive run in Taipei. The duo overcame Indonesia's third seeds Markis

    Kido and Pia Bernadeth to advance to their first ever international final.
