Sir Bradley Wiggins described himself as "a bit of an old hand" as he looked ahead on Monday (21 July) to competing in track cycling in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sir Bradley Wiggins, England Team Pursuit cyclist:
(Q: Is it hard physically to go between road and track cycling?)

"yes I think the demands of the events are different. That's been the hardest thing to get used to, the intensity. Doing two or three minute efforts on the track, doing 20 minutes riding in one day and feeling so shattered at the end of the day when I get home compared to six, seven hours on the bike (in road cycling) So that's been a big difference but at the same time I think all of the road that I've done over the last few years has given me certainly a lot more strength on the track and I think that I feel stronger than when I walked away six years ago from it."
