Sam Willoughby and Mariana Pajon were crowned the respective elite men's and elite women's champions at the 2014 BMX World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on Sunday (July 27th).

The 2014 BMX World Championships at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, concluded on Sunday with the elite women's and elite men's finals.
Olympic champion Mariana Pajon claimed her second world title in the elite women's category.
The Colombian adding the title to her world championship crown, which she claimed back in 2011.
A bronze medallist in 2010, American Alise Post claimed second place on Sunday.
While crowd favourite Laura Smulders of the Netherlands finished in third to complete the podium places.
Connor Fields took the early lead in the elite men's final, but the American's hopes of victory were dashed after he collided with Sam Willoughby on a tight corner.
As Fields took a tumble, he and his bike came back into the track causing the majority of the riders to fall or have their ride disrupted in some way.
Willoughby on the other hand, escaped the carnage and the Australian cruised to his second world title - his first coming in 2012.
Tory Nyhaug of Canada also avoided the crash on his way to second place, while Briton Tre Whyte recovered quickly to finish in third.
