The Giants have paraded their third World Series title through the streets of San Francisco.

Despite inclement weather, hundreds of thousands of fans lined the now familiar route, dressed in the team's black and orange colours, to cheer on their favourite stars who rode on top of double decker buses.

The parade culminated at City Hall where Giants manager Bruce Bochy was presented with the keys to the city by Mayor Ed Lee.

World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner told the crowd he couldn't have asked for a better reception.

SOUNDBITE: Madison Bumgarner, World Series MVP:

"To be here standing right now on this stage is what we all play for and, you know, it's just unbelievable. In Spring Training, you know, we had one goal and that's to win another championship and here we are with our third one in five years, that's pretty amazing. Like they've been saying, this is a dynasty and there's no way, there's absolutely no way we would be here without you guys. You make it so fun for us to come out and play in front of you every night and it's been awesome. Thank you so much."

To round out the celebrations, outfielder Hunter Pence led fans in their now famous championship chant before the team posed for a photo.

    "Yes! Yes! Yes!"
