  • Intro:

Defending champion Henrik Stenson has claimed the half-way lead at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on Friday (November 21).

    Script:

On the thirteenth, Shane Lowry produced something special.

A hole in one, to stay in the hunt for DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

At the halfway point Henrik Stenson is two strokes clear, sitting at 10 under after adding a second round 66 to his opening 68.

But the world number four has Open and US PGA champion Rory McIlroy just two shots behind.

Playing his first tournament after a six-week lay-off, McIlroy could only add a scrappy 70 to his flawless opening 66.

This par miss on the 16th sums up his day.

The world number one is now sitting at eight under amongst a five-strong group including Scotland's Richie Ramsay, England's Danny Willett and Justin Rose and Lowry.
