Day two of the Australian Open teed off on Friday at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

Overnight leader Jordan Spieth finished with a birdie on nine for a one-over 72 which leaves him two behind the leader at three-under.

After opening with a three-over 74 on Thursday, world number three Adam Scott came roaring back into contention with a blistering round of 66, leaving him just three shots back at two-under.

Top ranked competitor and defending Australian Open champion, Rory McIlroy, is just a shot back at four-under after firing two straight rounds of 69.

McIlroy followed up his long range birdie putt with this eagle on fourteen, before finishing with another birdie on eighteen.

Adam Crawford is one of three men tied with McIlroy at four-under after a 69 that briefly saw him take the lead.

McIlroy, Crawford, Todd Sinnott and Conrad Shindler sit a shot behind leader Greg Chalmers after the Australian carded a 66.

After sinking his long birdie putt on nine, Chalmers took aim at the par-three eleventh. Despite his radar being slightly off, luck was on his side.

He finished with a birdie on eighteen that took him to five-under, good enough for a one-shot lead heading into the weekends play.
