South Korea look ahead to Iraq

    South Korea trained on Saturday (24th January) ahead of their match against Iraq in the Asian Cup semi-final in Sydney, Australia.

    South Korea have trained ahead of their semi-final encounter with Iraq in the AFC Asian Cup.

    The Taeguk Warriors topped group A after beating Oman, Kuwait and host nation Asutralia.

    However, they needed extra-time to get past a hard-fought quarter-final match against Uzbekistan.

    They are yet to concede a goal in the tournament after four matches, yet, Korean media and supporters have been far from impressed with the team's performances.

    South Korea have not lifted the Asian Cup since 1960, the second of back to back victories, and now they find themsleves 180 minutes away from regain the trophy.

    A 55-year drought has left all of South Korea desperate to re-conquer the continental prize but many feel the team will need to play a whole lot better in the upcoming matches.

    Defender Kim Jin Sun highlighted that the team watched the Iraq game all together and are aware of the strength of their opposition's attacking options.

    Australia face UAE in the Asian Cup's other semi-final with the final due to be played at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Saturday 31.
