Bayern Munich celebrated their third consecutive German title - and a record 25th overall - after beating Mainz 2-0 on Saturday at the Allianz Arena on the final day of the season.

A Robert Lewandowski penalty in the first half and a Bastian Schweinsteiger strike on his 500th competitive appearance for Bayern got 75,000 fans in the party mood.

The title was already in the bag before kick-off and Mainz were safe in mid-table, but Pep Guardiola's side were hoping to finish the season on a high after losing the German Cup final and going out of the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona.

Bayern had also won just one of their previous six games coming into the campaign finale.

A lot could change at Bayern in the close season, with Schweinsteiger linked with a move away from Munich and Guardiola's signature coveted by a number of clubs across Europe.

Guardiola's reward for steering Bayern to another milestone in their history was to be drenched in beer at the end of the celebrations by Jerome Boateng.
