MUST WATCH: Cheese Rolling 2015

  • Intro:

A Chris Anderson secured his 14th and 15th wins in 11 years at the annual Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake event in Gloucestershire, England on Monday.

    Script:

It's that time of year again when people hurl themselves down a hill after a large round of cheese.

The annual Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake took place in the village of Brockworth in Gloucestershire over the Spring bank holiday.

An 8lb round of Double Gloucester cheese gets thrown down the hill with competitors chasing after it.

The idea is that whoever catches the cheese wins, but in reality, the first person to cross the finish line is crowned the winner and gets the cheese as a reward.

Chris Anderson, who has previously won 13 races over a 'Vintage' 11-year period managed to win a further two races on Monday, and he shared his secret to success.

SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Anderson, 13-time race winner:

"Once you're spinning, if you tense up, that's when you're likely to hurt yourself. So you just try and let yourself go, and then you can...like I do, I try and roll and get back up on my feet straight away and then just run the rest of the way."

Unsurprisingly, there are often several injuries throughout the day, but the locals say the event is tradition, and it must continue.

Keavy Morgan was the winner of the women's event after what can only be described as a brutal descent.

Although battered and bruised, she seemed vaguely happy with the win.
