Ronaldo too celebrity focused says Dani Alves

  • Dani Alves says Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo focuses too much on his celebrity status.

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Dani Alves, Barcelona full back.

"I still see Cristiano (Ronaldo) as a player with lots of qualities. The problem is his tendency of self-focusing on his celebrity status. How can I say it without offending him? He is way too much of a leading role."

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Dani Alves, Barcelona full back (On Real Madrid)

"As long as there is a Real Madrid, there will be a much better Barca. They are a team that makes their rival long to be better. Even if they didn't exist Barca would need a rival team to want to be stronger every day against them. When you compete at this level the more good rival teams you have, the better you get."

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Luis Enrique, Barcelona manager (On 4-0 win over Real Madrid):

"I think Real Madrid was in the same line they had been during previous games since the start of the season. Their system was clear. I think we were much more assertive and were much more superior. But not because we were more populated in midfield, because you can do that and still the rival can generate you lots of transitions. There were many key football aspects involving in that victory. I wouldn't say it was because of a single aspect."
