  • Norwich manager Alex Neil spoke on Friday (12th February) about his team's upcoming Premier League fixture against West Ham.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alex Neil, Norwich manager:

    (on West Ham):

"I don't really feel anything about where West Ham are at the moment. I think they've got some good players. I think their season has been a bit up and down. At the start of the season they went and beat a lot of the bigger teams certainly away from home, the likes of Man(chester) City, Arsenal and teams like that, they did exceptionally well. They had a couple of injuries, especially when Dimitri Payet was out. I think they found it tough then to win the games under that spell and I think since he's come back they've picked themselves back up. They've got some good players but so have we, so we just need to approach the game and try to influence our style of play on the."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alex Neil, Norwich manager:

    (on needing the fans' support):

"It's going to be huge and the reason it's huge is because we haven't been in good form recently and they've all been harping the same way me and the players have. That's when supporting your team and being vocal and trying to put the games behind you becomes tough for them because all they can do is reflect on the last one. What we need to do as a group, me, the players and the fans is put them games to bed and focus on this one. If we get three points for this one and results go our way we could potentially find ourselves out of the bottom three again. Then it's 12 games to go, you win more games than the teams below you and you stay in the league. I think what tends to happen is because we're on a poor run and because we've found ourselves in the bottom three for the second time this season that all the doom and gloom mongers come out and everything gets painted a lot worse than it potentially is. If you get a run of victories or a couple of results then things can quickly change and we're hoping for that tomorrow, with the fans' help.
