  • World champions Poland beat Venezuela in straight sets on Thursday (2nd June) to secure their spot in Rio, while hosts Japan were eliminated after defeat to Australia in the men's World Olympic Qualification in Tokyo.

Both hosts Japan and Australia needed a win to keep their hopes of reaching Rio alive on Thursday (2nd June).
With the stakes high it was Australia who made the brighter start, racing into a two set lead.
Japan rallied into a third set lead, only to be pegged back by the persistent Aussies.
The hosts couldn't turn the momentum in their favour, and the straight sets defeat means Japan will not be heading to Rio.
Meanwhile, Australia keep their Olympic dreams alive and sit sixth in the standings.
Poland also secured their place in Rio on Thursday with victory over Venezuela.
The Poles top the group with five wins in five games.
