  • Slovakia's Mat'o Homola and Pepe Oriola of Spain topped the podium at the latest round of the TCR International Series in Oschersleben, Germany on Sunday (19th June).

Heading into Race One of the TCR International series Mat'o Homola and Dusan Borkovic had dominated the qualifying stages, that continued into the race.

A controlled drive from second on the grid saw Homola triumph after a difficult race on a slippery circuit which saw the safety car deployed twice.

Briton James Nash was Homola's closest challenger going into the final lap, but a brave overtaking manoeuvre allowed Borkovic to take up position behind his team-mate.

After a perfect tactical race, the B3 Racing SEATs took the chequered flag in first and second with Nash rounding out the podium in third.

In race two Craft Bamboo Lukoil's Pepe Oriola ended a three-month drought and returned to victory with a convincing performance.

After taking the lead from pole-sitter Davit Kajaia on lap two, the Spaniard fended off all attempts to catch him and steered his SEAT to victory by a clear margin from Borkovic and Nash who finished second and third once again.

In a shake-up of the drivers' order, team-mates Oriola and Nash now share the lead in the standings with 145 points apiece, four clear of Homola and with Stefano Comini in fourth.

With five rounds remaining, the TCR International Series will resume in Sochi, Russia on 3rd July.
