Tanak leads the way at the Rally Poland

  • Estonian driver Ott Tanak leads the Rally Poland by 4.2 seconds after the first nine stages on Friday (1st July).

    Estonian Ott Tanak opened up a 4.2 second lead after the first nine stages of the Rally Poland on Friday.

    The DMACK World Rally Team driver won five of the day's nine timed tests in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

    Norway's Andreas Mikkelsen had been the early pacesetter in his Volkswagen Motorsport II, but had to settle for second position.

    Hyundai Motorsport driver Hayden Paddon from New Zealand won three of the day's gravel special stages to round off the top three.

    World champion and championship leader Sebastien Ogier is fourth as he saved his best of the day until last.

    The Frenchman produced the joint fastest time on the final stage and the Volkswagen Motorsport driver will resume 16.3 seconds behind the leader.
