Saturday, August 13 2016 by SNTV
  • The Estonian triplets, the Luik sisters, looked ahead to the women's marathon when they spoke in Rio de Janeiro on Friday (12th August.)

Estonian's Lily, Liina and Leila Luik have made Olympic history by becoming the first triplets to compete together in the same event.

The trio compete in the marathon, and have all qualified to compete in the same race in Rio.

The sisters described what it's like to run together.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Liina Luik (on the feeling of running together with her sisters)

"I think it's an amazing feeling, I think it's better to run with sisters than to run like, one people (person). Like I feel good support and mentally good vibe, and good energy from my sisters also. I think I have two supporters in the race, we are supporting each other very much and I think we feel that kind of energy with each other."

The women's marathon will take place on Sunday, 14th August.
