Brazil prepare for Olympic football final

Saturday, August 20 2016 by SNTV
  • Brazil's male football squad get ready for the Olympic final at the Maracana stadium on Thursday (18th August).

After thrashing Honduras 6-0 in the men's semi-finals the day before, Brazil's Olympic football squad went through a light training session at Flamengo's Ninho do Urubu training centre on Thursday.

Most of Brazil's starting line-up concentrated on gym work on Thursday, including new Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus who, alongside Neymar, scored twice in the semis.

They have two days to recover before Saturday's final at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

After a slow start to the competition, weighed down by the expectations of a football-obsessed country, Brazil now seem to have found their feet, but will have to be careful not to fall at the final hurdle against a formidable German side. Die Mannschaft have scored 21 goals in their five previous matches.
