  • Former UEFA president Michel Platini arrives at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday (25th August) as Sepp Blatter appeals against his fooball ban imposed by FIFA.

Former UEFA president Michel Platini arrived at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland on Thursday, in order to attend Sepp Blatter's appeal hearing - following a six year ban.

Both men were barred from all footballing activities - following a 2 million dollar payment - received by Platini and authorised by Blatter - for uncontracted work, advising the former head of FIFA.

And Platini did not appear optimistic for a favourable outcome, as he arrived at the court:

SOUNDBITE: (French) Michel Platini, former president of UEFA: "I wonder if the decision has not already been taken, even before the hearing"

The verdict - due in several weeks - could be challenged in a further appeal to Switzerland's supreme court.
