  • West Ham United Manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed a deal to sign Simone Zaza from Juventus has been agreed. However, the move for the Italy forward has yet to be completed. West Ham face Manchester City on Sunday.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Slaven Bilic, West Ham United manager:

(On signing Simone Zaza from Juventus):

"With the Zaza situation, it looks very likely to happen, it should happen Friday (26th August), but until it happens you never know. But, as far as I know, the deal is agreed between the clubs. His personal terms are also agreed, but it's still not signed. He's supposed to come to London today in the early afternoon and hopefully we're going to do it today.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Slaven Bilic, West Ham United manager:

(On who will feature against Manchester City on Sunday 28th August):

"We had a game on Thursday (25th August) and Havard Nordtveit got a kick on his foot. He got a kick on his foot a few days before Chelsea, but he played a couple of games, but in the first half against Astra, it happened again in the same spot I think. Yesterday after the game, they said he he's out, so we're going to see today, but he's very likely to be out and not to play on Sunday. Mark Noble should be all right. But, then again we have a training session now and then after training we're going to know more if he's going to be okay for Sunday. Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, we're going to see today (26th August) and Saturday (27th August). Maybe one of them will be in the squad for Sunday's game. We still have one training session, because the question is, after this game we have an international break, which gives us a couple of weeks and of course we are tempted to (play then) because we need them."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Slaven Bilic, West Ham United manager:

(if his side can repeat last season's win at the Etihad Stadium):

"There's no reason why we shouldn't do it this season. At least it's a challenge. We know it's a big challenge and now the situation regarding our injury situation is not a good one, but we are hoping and our whole plan is to have a good game and if we have a good game, we can get something out of that game."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Slaven Bilic, West Ham United manager:

    (On facing Manchester City):

"Is it good to play them now? I told you I'd like to face them with a full squad, but then I would like to face any team with a full squad, of course. They have a good team. I mean we can talk for hours now, but I have a strong belief in my team."
