Jardim has solutions with goalkeepers

Thursday, September 21 2017 by 7MTV
  • Head coach Leonardo Jardim on Wednesday (20th September) played down the injury-enforced absence of goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, stating that the Croatian and his replacement Diego Benaglio were both "high quality players", ahead of Monaco's French Ligue 1 game at Lille on Friday (22nd September).

SOUNDBITE: (French) Leonardo Jardim, Monaco head coach

"They (Danijel Subasic and Diego Benaglio) are two experienced goalkeepers who have had a good career. They are high quality players. It's a good thing to have solutions. Of course, Suba (Danijel Subasic) produced a great season. He almost always played in the last season. This year, I don't want to take any risks (with an injured player). Football is like that. I always need solutions. I'm very satisfied with Suba and Diego (Benaglio)."

SOUNDBITE: (French) Leonardo Jardim, Monaco head coach

"I think that Lille are a good team. They did not start well this season but they have good players. After each match, they are making progress thanks to the ideas. Marcelo (Bielsa) is a good and experienced head coach."
