22:30 UPDATE: Aberdeen message to McKenna

Aberdeen have told wantaway defender Scott McKenna that they will only sell him if the price is right.

Nottingham Forest and QPR both had recent offers turfed out and that led to the Scotland star putting in a transfer request before last weekend's win over Hearts.

Derek McInnes is disappointed that McKenna has asked for a move but the manager is adamant they won't be forced into selling.

Aberdeen knocked back a £7million bid from Aston Villa this time last year and are likely to want a deal that would go above that with future add-ons.

None of the bids from the Championship clubs are anywhere near that level, and there would have to be a significant increase before Thursday's English transfer deadline for McKenna to be sold.

20:55 UPDATE: Rooney to return?

Wayne Rooney could be about to make a return to England - but the Premier League legend will not be adding to his top-flight goals haul.

The Mirror reckon Derby are interested in recruiting the former Everton and Manchester United star to join Philip Cocu's staff.

Ex-England captain Rooney - who is the Three Lions' all-time top goalscorer - could turn out for the Rams in the Championship.

And he would face a wait until at least the 2020/21 campaign before he could strut his stuff in the Premier League again.

19:40 UPDATE: Arsenal to delay deal

Arsenal might postpone a move for Kieran Tierney until next year because a new centre-back is a bigger priority.

Laurent Koscielny is attempting to force his way out of the Emirates in a switch would leave the Gunners short.

And the Daily Mail claim that means Tierney might not rock up at Arsenal until the January transfer window.

Arsenal have made a series of offers for Tierney, but Celtic are reluctant to lose the left-back on the cheap.

15:30 UPDATE: Man Utd stance on Pogba

Manchester United are of the belief Real Madrid's inability to offload Gareth Bale will stop them from landing Paul Pogba.

Real are undergoing something of a revolution this summer with Zinedine Zidane offloading fringe players to bring in fresh blood.

The French gaffer is eager to land his compatriot, who has made clear his intention to call time on his second spell at United.

The BBC claim, however, that United are confident of keeping Pogba as Bale's stay means Real do not have the funds to prise him away.

14:10 UPDATE: Man Utd exclusive

Man Utd star Romelu Lukaku is likelier to join Inter Milan than Juventus in the wake of the Red Devils' failure to land Paulo Dybala.

Lukaku is wanted by both Juventus and Inter Milan with just days of the Premier League transfer window remaining.

In recent days, the Red Devils have tried offloading the Belgium international to Juventus and attempting to bring Paulo Dybala in as part of the deal.

That has collapsed, though, with Manchester United convinced the player wasn't fully committed to being part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

That has led to uncertainty regarding Lukaku but Express Sport understands Inter Milan are now likeliest to sign him.

"However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.

"From my conversations with the manager, I am excited about the vision and plans he has for the team. It's clear to see that Ole is building a team to win trophies. I am now looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting the season started."

08:55 UPDATE: Barcelona on signing Neymar

Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has ruled out a move for PSG star Neymar this summer, claiming the situation is complicated.

"As of today, there's no Neymar case, as the president said, and it's complicated," Cardoner told television station TV3.

"We are passive actors. We know he's not happy in Paris and it's a situation that needs to be resolved in Paris.

"We haven't spoken to them. There is a lot of respect between the clubs and if there is a Neymar case one day, we'll talk.

"Today, at this time, it's ruled out."

Manchester United have pulled the plug on a move for Paulo Dybala.

Express Sport understands the Juventus striker's wage demands were behind United's decision.

Dybala could have joined United in a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.
