TRANSFER NEWS LIVE is here as Express Sport brings you up-to-date coverage of the Premier League deadline day with the window set to slam shut at 5pm. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham all feature on what's set to be a hectic day.

Silva on Iwobi transfer

Everton boss Marco Silva claims Alex Iwobi was a top target this summer.

He said: “Alex was one of our main targets for this window and I believe he is a fantastic signing for Everton. He is a direct and skilful winger and attacking midfielder who always works very hard for his team.

"He is still young but already with a lot of top-level experience – 100 Premier League matches, more in Europe and many international games

"It was important for me to have one more quality option for our attacking positions to add to what we have with Richarlison, Bernard and Theo Walcott.

"Alex fits exactly the profile of player I want in my model. He is hungry to join Everton and take the next step in his career, to help us compete with the strongest teams in the league and reach his potential at our club.”

Alex Iwobi joins Everton

Everton have confirmed the signing of Alex Iwobi from Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has agreed a five-year deal with Everton after the Toffees coughed up £35m.

Everton were expected to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

However, the south London club stood firm and refused to sell the winger for less than £80m.

As a result, Everton turned their attention elsewhere and signed Iwobi from Arsenal.

Emery on Luiz move

Unai Emery has hailed David Luiz after the Brazilian joined Arsenal from Chelsea.

"David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again," he said.

"He is a well known player and adds to our defensive strength."

David Luiz deal done

Arsenal have completed the signing of David Luiz from Chelsea.

The Brazil international has penned a two-year deal at Arsenal after quitting Chelsea.

Arsenal coughed up £8m for Luiz, 32, who was desperate to head across London to the Emirates.

Luiz will wear the No. 23 shirt at the Emirates this season.

Lo Celso on Tottenham move

Giovani Lo Celso says it was a no-brainer to join Tottenham.

The midfielder has joined from Real Betis on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

Lo Celso, 23, will wear the No. 18 shirt this season.

"It was an easy decision," he said.

"It’s a club that plays in the Champions League every year, has an incredible stadium, a top-level training centre, a coaching team of Argentines that showed interest in me, and that was very important."

Kieran Tierney on Arsenal move

Kieran Tierney has revealed all on his Arsenal move, claiming it was a hard decision to leave Celtic.

"Yeah, it was the hardest decision in my whole life that I've had to make," he said.

"I had to speak to my family and my close friends and my agent as well because it's a hard decision to leave a club that you love so much. People need to know that as well.

"I feel Arsenal is a massive club and it's a great opportunity for me as well. I'm delighted to be here."

Alexi Iwobi latest

Alex Iwobi is currently undergoing a medical in London ahead of his proposed transfer to Everton, David Ornstein claims.

"Alex Iwobi is undergoing a medical in London and will sign a five-year contract to join Everton from Arsenal for around £35-40m,” Ornstein tweeted.

"A deal sheet was submitted by the 5pm deadline and the transfer should be completed without a problem by the 7pm extension cut-off.”

Done Deal - Burnley sign Drinkwater

Burnley beat the deadline to bring in Danny Drinkwater on loan from Chelsea.

The midfielder, who won the Premier League with Leicester, will stay with the Clarets until January 6.

Urrr… City sign Scott Carson

Former England goalkeeper Scott Carson has completed a surprise deadline-day switch from Derby to Manchester City on a year-long loan deal.

The 33-year-old, who played 30 times in the Championship for the Rams last season before losing his place to Kelle Roos in mid-March, will act as back-up to Ederson and Claudio Bravo.

Carson, formerly of Leeds, Liverpool, West Brom, Wigan and Turkish outfit Bursaspor, said on City's official website: "It's something I didn't expect but an opportunity I simply could not turn down.

David Luiz latest

The window may have closed but there’s still time for Arsenal to get this deal over the line.

Six deal sheets were submitted ahead of the 5pm deadline - so they have until 7pm to make the deal official.

And reports claim Luiz will be an Arsenal player tonight.

ESPN FC pundit Jorge Nicola says the Gunners will pay £10million and Luiz will receive the same £125k per-week salary.

It’s also claimed the Brazilian could earn an additional £1.8million in performance-related bonuses.

Done Deal - Spurs announce Lo Celso and Sessegnon

Tottenham have signed Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso on a season-long loan.

The Argentina international has been a summer-long target for Spurs and has joined for the 2019-20 season in a move which could become permanent next year.

The deal will reportedly cost up to £55million if the Champions League finalists buy him.

Spurs also announced the signing of Ryan Sessegnon on a six-year deal.

The 19-year-old, who currently has a hamstring injury, has signed for a fee of around £20million from Fulham, with Josh Onomah going the other way.

Everton clarity

The Times journalist Paul Joyce has clarified Everton’s pursuit of Wilfried Zaha.

The journalist claims Everton only submitted one official bid for the Ivory Coast international - and wouldn’t have gone above £60million.

It’s also confirmed that Everton refused to sign Rojo on a permanent basis.

Joyce tweeted: “Alex Iwobi fee around £35million. Everton only made one bid for Wilfried Zaha of £52m which was rejected on July 28. Would have only gone to £60m anyway and Palace wanted more. Refused to do Marcos Rojo on a permanent.”

Marcos Rojo no go

Defender Marcos Rojo will NOT be joining Everton.

The Toffees were in talks to bring the Argentine centre-back to Goodison Park on a season-long loan.

However, Manchester United wanted to sell Rojo on a permanent basis and a suitable agreement could not be found.

Andy Carroll returns

Andy Carroll has returned to Newcastle eight-and-a-half years after his £35million move to Liverpool.

The 30-year-old striker, who was a free agent after being released by West Ham at the end of last season, has signed an initial one-year deal with the club at which he made his name.

Carroll said: "It feels very good. My friends and family are here, and it's the club that I support - it is home."

Arsenal announce Tierney!

Arsenal have signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic on a "long-term deal".

The Scotland international, 22, has joined from the Scottish champions for a fee reported to be £25million.

The left-back, who will wear the number three shirt, passed a medical in London on Thursday and could make his debut against Newcastle on Sunday.

Done Deal - Pennington joins Hull

Hull have signed Matthew Pennington on loan from Everton.

The 24-year-old centre-back will spend the 2019-20 campaign at the Tigers after previous loan spells at Leeds and Ipswich.

He told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased to be here and I'm feeling fit and ready to go.”

Rejected!

Tottenham have turned down a bid from Watford for Danny Rose.

The Independent claim Watford offered £14million for the England international.

But Rose, who was left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to seek opportunities away from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, looks set to stay.

The versatile right-sided player has made 13 appearances for the Robins and was on loan at Rotherham last season.

Done Deal - Austin signs

West Brom have signed striker Charlie Austin from Southampton for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old has agreed a two-year contract and becomes the seventh new arrival at the Hawthorns this summer, following Filip Krovinovic, Kenneth Zohore, Semi Ajayi, Darnell Furlong, Romaine Sawyers and Grady Diangana through the door.

Austin has a goals record of 70 in 132 Championship games and he could make his debut on Saturday when West Brom host Millwall.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has completed his big-money switch to Inter Milan, the Serie A side have announced.

Just two years after arriving at Old Trafford from Everton, the 26-year-old this summer made clear his desire to move to pastures new.

Antonio Conte's men finally struck a deal that could reach £73.75million and includes a sell-on clause.

Wilfried Zaha staying

Wilfried Zaha will be staying at Crystal Palace, according to Sky Sports.

Everton were desperate to sign the Ivorian international, who handed in a transfer request yesterday.

But despite the Toffees’ efforts - Zaha will remain at Selhurst Park for the 2019/2020 campaign.

Eddie Nketiah has joined Leeds.

The Arsenal talent joins the Championship club on a season-long loan and could feature against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Senegalese winger has signed for an undisclosed fee believed to be £32million including add-ons and bonuses - which is a new club-record fee for Watford.

Done Deal - Sessegnon signs

Tottenham have completed the signing of Ryan Sessegnon.

Spurs have paid an initial £25million for the Fulham teenager, who has completed a medical and signed a five-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months.

The fee could rise to £30m if performance-related add-ons are triggered, David Ornstein writes.

We await official confirmation from the two clubs.

Wilfried Zaha latest

Wilfried Zaha is waiting anxiously to depart Crystal Palace with Everton poised as the favourites to sign him, but the transfer rests on the south London club finding a replacement.

Zaha’s future remains up in the air with just a matter of hours left of the transfer window.

It seems Palace are mainly reluctant to accept a transfer until they have a replacement in place.

Sky Sports Palace are ready to move for RB Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin should they accept a bid for Zaha.

The 22-year-old is said to be on “standby to fly to London” should Zaha leave.

Augustin would end up costing Palace close to £15m if they go through with it.

Dennis Praet to Leicester

Leicester are on the verge of signing Dennis Praet.

The Sampdoria has been on the Foxes shortlist all summer and an agreement has finally been reached.

The Sun claim Leicester will pay £18million for the winger, who will undergo a medical later today.

Arsenal were previously linked with Praet - but the arrivals of Kieran Tierney and David Luiz looks to be Unai Emery’s final business this window.

Danny Drinkwater to Burnley

Sean Dyche confirmed Burnley are working to bring Danny Drinkwater to the club on loan from Chelsea.

The midfielder was understood to be at the Clarets' training ground to complete a medical on Thursday but Dyche insisted it is not yet a done deal

Asked about his likely transfer day dealings, Dyche said: "There's a maybe on Nakhi Wells going out and a maybe on Danny Drinkwater coming in.

"That's not confirmed. It's more than just the i's to dot and t's to cross. It's got a reasonable chance but everyone's got to agree."

Man Utd transfer plans questioned

Manchester United should have been in the mix for Arsenal-bound Kieran Tierney because the left-back is better than Luke Shaw.

That is the verdict of former Celtic and Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas, who is unhappy that his Scottish compatriot does not have more options as he leaves Parkhead.

"My disappointment for Tierney is that Arsenal are the only big Premier League club that has shown an interest," Nicholas said.

"I’m surprised Manchester United haven’t come in, because he is a better player than Luke Shaw."

How Tottenham can still sign Paulo Dybala

Tottenham need Juventus to find a replacement for Paulo Dybala if they are to resurrect a move for the Argentine.

Dybala looked to be on his way to north London on deadline day after Spurs agreed a fee for him with the Old Lady.

However, Juventus pulled a plug on the deal with just hours to go before the transfer closes until January.

Sky Sports reckon Tottenham’s hopes of getting Dybala now rest on Juventus finding a replacement for the 25-year-old.

Tottenham could also delay an agreement regarding image rights and settle that issue later.

Details of Tottenham deal emerge

Tottenham are taking Giovani Lo Celso on loan with a clause included which could see them buy him outright next summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has agreed to hand over an initial £14.7m, with the remainder of the £69m guaranteed if they qualify for the Champions League.

If Tottenham do not book a place in Europe’s elite club competition for the 2020/21 campaign, they will have the option whether to sign him permanently.

Lo Celso’s release clause at Real Betis stands at £88m, so Levy has done well to talk the La Liga side’s chiefs down.
