Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has found a way to keep his players fit amid the coronavirus pandemic, delivering instructions to them via video communication software Zoom

Jose Mourinho is refusing to let the coronavirus pandemic stop him from putting his Tottenham players through their paces - conducting virtual training sessions while keeping fit on an exercise bike.

All English football has been put on hold until at least April 30 because of the coronavirus outbreak, which has affected close to 900,000 people worldwide.

And today UEFA have confirmed the return of Champions League and Europa League matches has been delayed until July at the earliest.

Premier League stars across the country have been self-isolating as a result of the virus, with several foreign players granted permission to return home and see their families.

But Mourinho has found a way to conduct sessions with the Spurs squad from their respective homes, with video communication software Zoom allowing the Portuguese to deliver them instructions while completing his own workout.

In a video posted on Spurs’ Twitter page, Mourinho and two of his coaches are seen talking to their players on a video link from the club’s Enfield training complex.

The Portuguese is then seen using a resistance band on his legs

The Special One is first going through the gears himself on a bike, before joining the coach who appears to be leading the session in using a resistance band to exercise his legs.

Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Hugo Loris are among the players spotted working out as the camera pans in on the Zoom app.

Spurs also posted a video of Mourinho instructing his players to complete more technical drills.

"Five minutes, touching the ball. If you have a wall, or if you have a person in your house, if you have a garden - go to the garden,” he says.

"Five minutes, just touch the ball. Keep in contact with the ball, play with the wall, play with the kids, play with somebody in the house.”

The north London club announced this week that they are introducing a 20 per cent salary reduction for all 550 of their non-football staff, some of whom will be furloughed.

Nevertheless, the cost-cutting measures do not currently impact Mourinho and his playing squad.
