Anderson back for Alloa test

Posted Saturday, August 21, 2010 by PA

Stenhousemuir boss John Coughlin will be without winger Grant Anderson for the visit of Alloa.

Anderson is unavailable while former Preston North End striker Simon Lynch remains injured.

However goalscoring midfielder Ross Clark is welcomed back to the Warriors squad.

Coughlin said: "I am in the happy position of having nearly everyone fighting for a place in the side and that can only be a good thing. We have mixed things up in the last two games and everyone that has came in has done really well so I have a headache of the right kind.

"I will need to pick the right side as Alloa look a good side again this season and Allan Maitland has a lot of options at his disposal as well."

Alloa manager Allan Maitland has a full compliment of players available to him for the trip.

Maitland has a striking dilemma to solve after Jim Lister impressed after coming off the bench in the Wasps' last three games.

He scored the winner last week against East Fife and Maitland is considering a starting role for the former Bathgate Junior.

Whatever side he picks Maitland reckons his side will need to be at their best against a good Stenhousemuir side.

He said: "They thrashed Dundee and then drew with Brechin with a much changed team and that shows you the strength in depth that John Coughlin has built. This will be a tight game and I have to choose the right striker."
