Brechin moved top of the table with an emphatic 4-2 win over struggling Peterhead at Glebe Park thanks to a hat-trick from Rory McAllister.
Craig Malloy opened the scoring for City after just two minutes when he drilled past Peterhead keeper John Bateman from close range following a knock down from McAllister.
The Blue Toon were back on level terms in the 11th minute when Dennis Wyness side-footed home from the penalty spot following a foul on Graeme Sharp.
McAllister then took over for City, netting goals in the 39th and 58th minutes before completing his hat-trick with a 66th minute header to ensure his team took all three points before Martin Bavidge scored an injury time consolation for Peterhead.
