Airdrie left Dumbarton rooted to the foot of the table with a 3-1 victory at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium in a real game of two halves.
Following a drab first-half in which neither side were able to create any meaningful chances, the second half saw an unprecedented four goals.
Ryan McCord opened the scoring for Airdrie just seven minutes into the second-half with a low drive into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
Substitute Ryan Wallace doubled the advantage ten minutes later when smashed home from a similar distance.
Paul Maxwell pulled one back for the home side in the 67th minute when he struck from close range.
However, Scott Gemmill wrapped things up for the Diamonds when he poked home the third in the 74th minute.
