Dargo not ready for Dundee

Dundee trialist Craig Dargo will not be included in the squad for the home game with Partick as he is not match fit.

The former Inverness and St Mirren striker joined the Dens Park club for training this week, but manager Barry Smith will not rush him into his plans, despite injuries to Jake Hyde and Graham Bayne, as the 33-year-old has not played competitively for five months.

Smith, whose side climbed off the bottom of the table with a win over Ayr last weekend, said: "Thistle are playing well so we need to match that and more by continuing where we left off at Somerset Park.

"We finally converted the chances we've been making all season in that game and that needs to continue."

Partick's injured quartet of Willie Kinniburgh, Scott Robertson, Ryan McBeth and Iain Flannigan will all miss the trip.

None of the injured four will be ready to help Partick in their search for their first away win of the season.

Manager Jackie McNamara said: "The players have been in a confident mood all week after battling back to grab a late equaliser against a good Falkirk side last weekend.

"But Dundee will probably be in an even better frame of mind after a good win down at Ayr United.

"Dens Park is a hard place to go as Thistle's record over recent years shows, so it would be great to get a win to improve that and also improve our record on the road overall this season."
