Inter Milan 2 : 1 Siena - Milito at the double

Diego Milito scored twice as Inter Milan came from behind to win 2-1 and bolster their European bid at home to Siena.

The visitors continued their improved recent form when they took an eighth-minute lead through Gaetano D'Agostino only for Milito to level on 42 minutes.

The Argentina striker then grabbed the winner from the penalty spot on 81 minutes after substitute Yugo Nagatomo was felled in the area.

Siena's night got worse in injury time when goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo was dismissed for his protests with the referee.

The win moved Inter two points behind the Europa League places while Siena, who had strung back-to-back wins together, are still in the relegation picture with a five-point gap on the bottom three.

The visitors had taken an early lead following a counter-attack that ended with D'Agostino's cool left-footed finish into the bottom-right corner.

Inter took over from there with Ricardo Alvarez shooting narrowly wide before Milito headed a Christian Chivu cross over.

Milito then had a shot saved by Pegolo, after another Chivu assist, but he made no mistake on 42 minutes when he headed in Mauro Zarate's cross.

Zarate then fizzed a free-kick just wide in first-half injury time.

Milito remained at the heart of everything after the break, but somehow missed from close range on the hour after Pegolo initially saved Alvarez's 20-yard effort.

The Argentinian was gifted the chance to make amends though 10 minutes from the end when Daniele Mannini hauled down Nagatomo and Milito made no mistake from the spot.

Pegolo then saw red for arguing with the referee to leave Siena without their goalkeeper for part of their relegation run-in.
