Peterborough United 3 : 1 Port Vale - Leaders Posh still sitting pretty

Peterborough breezed past Port Vale with a 3-1 victory to consolidate their position at the top of Sky Bet League One.
Posh took their tally to 12 goals in six games and moved four points clear of third-placed Fleetwood in the home triumph.
New recruit Marcus Maddison continued an explosive start to his Posh career with a glorious opening goal. The former Gateshead wideman volleyed past Vale keeper Chris Neal on the half-hour - his second goal in as many appearances since becoming the London Road club's latest signing from the non-league ranks.
Fellow winger Jon Taylor could have doubled Posh's advantage in both halves, but he instead turned provider as they clinched maximum points with a quick-fire brace to kill off any hopes of a Vale revival.
Substitute Kyle Vassell jumped off the bench to grab his fifth goal of the season after being left unmarked to head home a Taylor free-kick delivery in the 72nd minute.
But arguably the best was saved until last as skipper Jack Payne arrowed a 30-yard blockbuster past Neal seven minutes later.
Loanee Jordan Slew reduced Vale's arrears late on when rifling a smart strike past Posh keeper Ben Alnwick with seven minutes remaining, and only a fantastic defensive block from Christian Burgess denied him another goal in stoppage time.
