Paris Saint Germain 0 - 2 Monaco: Wagner Love and Fabinho on target as Monaco end PSG's unbeaten home run

Brazilian pair Wagner Love and Fabinho struck second-half goals for Monaco as Paris St Germain's unbeaten home league record was finally ended with a 2-0 defeat.

Runaway leaders PSG went unbeaten at Parc De Princes in the league last season and were yet to be beaten on home soil this time around, but Wagner Love scored midway through the second period and Fabinho converted a penalty three minutes later.

It was PSG's first league defeat at Parc De Princes since May 7, 2014 when they lost 2-1 to Rennes in their penultimate home game of the 2013/14 season.

Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic dealt with early shots from Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Angel Di Maria dragged his effort wide as PSG made all the early running.

Cavani then headed Di Maria's cross wide before Monaco mustered their first attempt on goal, Tiemoue Bakayoko firing wide from outside the penalty area in the 25th minute.

Ibrahimovic twice threatened to break the deadlock towards the end of the first period but dragged an angled shot wide and headed Di Maria's cross inches over the crossbar.

It was mostly one-way traffic and two long-range efforts from Vagner Love and Bakayoko, which both failed to trouble PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, were all Monaco had to offer in response before half-time.

Trapp was soon in action after the restart though, denying Bakayoko and Fabinho in quick succession before Cavani went tumbling in the box at the other end only for his claims for a penalty to fall on deaf ears.

Cavani headed Maxwell's cross off target in the 55th minute, but Monaco began to create chances and Trapp showed brilliant reflexes to deny Thomas Lemar in a one-on-one.

Monaco then stunned the majority in the Parc De Princes stadium by taking a 65th-minute lead when Fabinho's inch-perfect cross was turned home by Wagner Love.

After going 1-0 up, the visitors doubled their lead three minutes later before PSG had caught their breath.

Fabinho was clearly fouled in the area by David Luiz and duly picked himself up to send Trapp the wrong way from the spot.

Cavani headed Di Maria's cross straight at Subasic and - immediately after - Ibrahimovic spurned a golden chance to reduce the deficit when he headed off target with the goal at his mercy.

PSG laid siege on the Monaco goal in the closing stages but without any luck. Jean-Kevin Augustin blasted over from in front of goal from Ibrahimovic's knock down while Luiz and Thiago Silva both headed wide.

Ibrahimovic then blasted off target from six yards with two minutes left following a corner but Monaco held firm after five minutes of added time to extend their unbeaten league run to eight matches.
