Borussia Dortmund 4 - 1 Monchengladbach: Schubert dip continues as Dortmund win the clash of the Bundesliga's Borussias

Borussia Dortmund got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach which increases the pressure on the Foals' coach Andre Schubert.

Bundesliga top goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled further away at the top of the scoring charts with a brace while Lukasz Piszczek and Ousmane Dembele were also on target in a convincing win.

Raffael had given Gladbach an early lead - but that only stung Dortmund into action as the home side extended Gladbach's wait for a win to eight league games.

Schubert was already under pressure coming into the battle of the Borussias and an early goal from Raffael, who scored with a low drive from just outside the penalty area, was just what he would have wanted.

However, his joy lasted less than a minute as Marco Reus turned a Dembele ball down for Aubameyang to level.

Dembele again had a hand in the goal which put Dortmund in front after a quarter of an hour, with his pass helped on by Marc Bartra for Piszczek to head in.

Reus had a goal ruled out for offside before Sokratis Papastathopoulos almost gifted the visitors an equaliser, going close to an own goal, but the impressive Dembele ended their hopes with a fine individual goal, skipping past two defenders before picking his spot past Yann Sommer.

Reus then set up Aubameyang to complete the scoring midway through the second half, enabling Dortmund to take the final quarter of the game easily ahead of their clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Schubert's next challenge - if he remains in charge - is an away match against Barcelona in the same competition.
