Raith extended their lead to six points at the top of the table with a comfortable 5-0 victory over struggling Queen's Park at Hampden Park on a high-scoring day in Scottish League One.

Liam Buchanan opened the scoring just three minutes in with his fourth goal from his last five matches in all competitions and Lewis Vaughan doubled their score two minutes later.

Dario Zanatta (56), Bobby Barr (80) and Jason Thomson (90) added the gloss as Raith recorded their fourth straight league win.

Ayr remain second on goal difference after six goals were shared in a topsy-turvey 3-3 draw against Alloa at Somerset Park in which Lawrence Shankland was on target at each end of the match.

Shankland's fourth-minute header handed the hosts the lead before home defender Craig Reid put into his own net to level matters at the break.

A header from Kevin Cawley put Alloa ahead for the first time just after the hour mark but Jamie Adams equalised with 10 minutes remaining, while Scott Taggart's 84th-minute penalty was cancelled out as Shankland picked out the bottom corner at the death.

Arbroath moved up to third with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over bottom side Forfar at Station Park thanks to a goal in each half from Ryan McCord.

McCord opened the scoring three minutes before the break with a penalty and completed his brace midway through the second half after Thomas O'Brien had netted the second.

Kane Hester fired home Gary Fraser's cross from close range before a Bobby Linn penatly at the death completed the scoring.

Scott Agnew claimed a hat-trick as Stranraer reached fourth thanks to a 4-0 triumph away to 10-man Albion Rovers.

Agnew put the visitors ahead after 11 minutes and added a penalty midway through the first half, while Paul Woods handed them a 3-0 lead at the break.

Jason Marr saw red for the hosts for a foul in the penalty box seven minutes from time and Agnew posted the resulting spot-kick to clinch his fourth goal from the last two games.

Elsewhere, Mark Docherty's 45th-minute penalty was enough to secure maximum points for East Fife against 10-man Airdrie, who lost Jake Hastie to a second yellow card after 72 minutes.
