Boreham Wood up to third after ending Wrexham’s unbeaten run

Boreham Wood surged into third place in the Vanarama National League with a 1-0 win at Wrexham.
The Dragons were on the back of a 16-match unbeaten run coming into the match, but Luke Garrard’s determined outfit leapfrogged them thanks to Bruno Andrade’s 18th goal of a productive season.
The away side hit the front early on when Manny Smith pushed over Andrade in the box. The striker dusted himself down to convert coolly from the spot.
Wrexham’s task was intensified early after the break when defender Kevin Roberts was sent off following a petty altercation with Andrade.
Despite the numerical disadvantage the hosts battled valiantly and almost stole a share of the spoils when Shaun Pearson shot over late on.
