Dundee United at the double against struggling Dumbarton

Dundee United moved up to fourth place in the Ladbrokes Championship with a routine 2-0 home win over struggling Dumbarton.
Goals towards the end of the first half from Paul McMullan and Bilel Mohsni lifted the hosts into the promotion play-off places.
The Tangerines endured a frustrating first half-an-hour at Tannadice, but McMullan’s opener in the 30th minute settled any nerves. He made the most of a fine through-ball from Scott McDonald by driving a low shot into the corner.
Mohsni doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time by converting from close range.
That knocked the stuffing out of the visitors, who had goalkeeper Scott Gallacher to thank for preventing them falling further behind. He produced find stops from McDonald and Billy King as Dundee United ran out comfortable winners.
